Why We Started Lake Restore
Founder's Note:
Hi, I’m Chad Woolson, founder of Lake Restore. Alongside our passionate and skilled Lake Restore team, we’re on a mission to restore the health and beauty of lakes across the Midwest.
Like many of you, I grew up with lakes being a place of connection—family cookouts, watersports, fishing with friends, and swimming until the sun went down. But over the years, I started seeing something change. What used to be clear, vibrant water became murky, green, and filled with muck. The lakes I loved were no longer safe to swim in. People stopped using their docks or having friends over. And the “lake life” everyone talked about started to slip away.
At first, I tried the traditional methods—chemicals, mechanical aerators, weed harvesting—but the problems always came back. Nothing treated the root cause. That’s when I discovered a revolutionary solution being used in agriculture and many other industries: nanobubble technology. These microscopic oxygen bubbles were doing what no surface-level treatment could—delivering oxygen deep into the sediment where algae and muck thrive, triggering natural restoration from the bottom up.
